Cybax EHR is a state of the art electronic health records (EHR) and medical practice management software suite designed from the ground up to be quick and easy to use, while at the same time being reliable and secure. Its designers recognize the challenges of converting a medical office to an EHR system. Indeed one of the lead programmers is actually a practicing physician who fully understands the needs of the medical office from his 30 plus years of experience. The software was written with the most modern programming techniques, allowing the software to run on multiple platforms, including Microsoft Windows, Apple's OS X, and Linux.

Cybax Corporation was formed as a research and development company in 2007 to develop a product that fills a huge need and either sell it or merge with a public company with capital and marketing skills.

We anticipated a change back in 2007 where the penetrance of Electronic Medical Records software in doctors' offices in the United States was going to move from less than 20% to more than 80% due to pressure applied by the US government in a few years. Indeed, in 2009, the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) which was part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) was passed into law, applying this pressure.

ARRA contains economic incentives for doctors to adopt an Electronic Medical Records program and use them in meaningful way. Any Medicare doctor who does this can receive up to $44,000 per doctor over five years. Any Medicaid doctor can receive up to $63,750 for doing this over 6 years. Moreover, after the payment period is over, the Medicare carrot turns into a stick, and any Medicare doctor who does not use a certified Electronic Medical Records program will have his or her Medicare payments reduced.

One way or another, the use of Electronic Medical Records software in the US is going to increase dramatically.

In 2012, Cybax EHR passed 100% of the Stage I Meaningful Use measures through over eight hours of rigorous testing and was awarded the ONC-ATCB certification by the Drummond Group. This certification allows doctors who use Cybax EHR to attest to their use and receive Medicare or Medicaid incentive payments.

The design of Cybax EHR features a flexible user interface that puts medical information at the caregiver's fingertips wherever and whenever the need arises, in an organized and easy to understand format. Intuitive on-screen prompts guide users through the software. User preferences are highly customized and specific to medical sub-specialties and individual practitioners.

Cybax EHR's developers recognize the importance of not slowing physicians down or getting in the way of the work flow of the office. The software is designed so that patient encounters will proceed more rapidly and more efficiently with EHR than with a paper-based recording system. Emphasis is placed upon the majority of the information being entered by staff rather than the physician, freeing up doctors to focus their attention on their patients, not their computers.

As a testament to the effectiveness of this design philosophy, several practices using Cybax EHR with high patient volume (30 to 50 patients per day per doctor) have successfully attested for Meaningful Use without reducing their daily patient load by as much as a single patient.

Cybax EHR is easily adapted for different countries and languages. Languages can be set so that the on-screen prompts are displayed in English, Spanish, French and German. In the US, patient information will be convertible to government standards, including the iHealth Record. This record can be recorded on portable storage media, like CDs and USB drives. Patients can easily carry their health data with them on vacation or to a new home base.

A typical installation may include PCs running Microsoft Windows, Apple OS-X based computers, Linux workstations and thin client terminals all connected to a server via a Local Area Network (LAN) and/or a Wide Area Network (WAN). The software is scalable from a single practitioner office to large multi-specialty practices spanning many cities and states.
